Airport Meet and Greet
I can welcome clients, colleagues or guests at Birmingham Airport, greeting them in German if necessary. After ensuring that they have no problems such as lost luggage, I can escort them to your waiting coach or taxi and accompany them to their hotel or another venue, providing practical information if required. I always arrive early enough to liaise with your driver and find out exactly where he is parked before meeting your guests, making sure that their arrival is as smooth as possible and that their first impressions of your company are good.
Factory Tours
Often your clients, or colleagues, from overseas need to visit your premises to see how you operate, but sometimes language can be a barrier. I can accompany your German-speaking guests on factory visits, interpreting where necessary to make sure that you all understand each other.
It doesn’t have to be just a day visit. I also accompany groups of visitors on multi-day training courses, taking care of any problems that arise at the venues, in the hotels or at the restaurants. I can also recommend places to stay and eat, as well as entertainment venues, if you are putting together a programme for your guests.
Academic Tours
You don’t need to be a manufacturing company to benefit from my services; I also work closely with schools and universities, offering guided coach tours and guided walks on a variety of topics to suit the subjects studied.
Amongst other things, I have guided on a combined coach and walking tour of places associated with Tolkien, a coach tour about the tourism industry for a group of college students studying Leisure and Tourism, a guided tour about Birmingham’s cultural diversity for some American university students studying immigration patterns, and a sight-seeing tour for primary school children who had been learning about their local area in geography,
Talks and Lectures
Discover Birmingham without having to venture out into the cold, rain or traffic, with a slideshow and accompanying talk. I can tailor the contents to suit your audience, whether they are overseas students wanting to learn more about the city they have come to study in, senior citizens on holiday wanting to learn more about the city’s architecture, or business people wanting to be thrilled by tales of the city’s darker side while they enjoy a three course meal.
Team Building
Give your workforce the challenge of working together to separate the facts from the fiction in a guided walking tour with a twist. Working with a colleague, I will give your team members two stories – one true, one entirely made up – at each of the stops along the route, and ask them to decide which is which. Points are awarded at each stop to the teams that guess correctly, and the victor is announced at the end. Additional interaction and participation can be incorporated into the tours as required.
Staff Nights Out
All work and no play is no fun at all, and every workplace needs a staff night out once in a while. Private tours can be tailored to match your requirements. They can begin and/or end at a pub or restaurant, and you can choose your start and finish time and place.
The most popular type of guided walk for a staff night out is a ghost walk, but you can choose from a list of regular themes (Jewellery Quarter, Canals, City of a 1000 Trades, Truth and Lies, Books and Writers, Heroes and Villains, Entertainment) or make up one of your own. I pride myself on being able to deliver a Birmingham tour on almost any theme!
